Explanation Statement
John Deere World Headquarters/Harvester in East Moline, IL, is seeking an Audiology Technician to provide support services in the areas of audiology and respiratory testing. In this position, you will:
Schedule employees for hearing tests or respirator fit tests.
Perform hearing tests and provide patient education concerning wearing of hearing protection.
Evaluate hearing test/retest results and discuss the results with the employee; schedule follow up appointments with Physician as needed.
Perform respirator fit tests and provide employee education.
Provide maintenance of factory respirators.
Prepare and submit reports for management, as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) required reports.
Maintain medical records for employee respirator and/or hearing testing.
Assist with general clinic duties, including assisting patients, taking blood pressure, charting, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
Qualifications
Education
Miscellaneous degree or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Certification in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), audiometric technician (COHC), spirometry training, etc. as required.
Knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Guidelines, methods and processes, ideally including the guidelines and processes that are followed at John Deere.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and requirements.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook and Word.
Effective writing skills, including grammatical usage.
Administrative experience such as scheduling, planning, utilizing office equipment and other such clerical activities.
Experience working in a medical setting.
Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge of unit processes and operations.
Experience as a medical assistant.
