John Deere Ottumwa Works is seeking a Strategic Supply Management Specialist to support and lead a commodity strategic sourcing team with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for division/unit for assigned commodity desk. In this position, you will
Investigate the availability of suppliers and materials in the marketplace, develop and implement unit sourcing strategies in support of enterprise/division sourcing strategies, and integrate suppliers in support of the Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP).
Maintain supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality, and business performance by utilizing Achieving Excellence and other appropriate supply management tools.
Lead and/or participate on multi-functional teams responsible for make vs. buy decisions, resourcing activities, Supplier Change Requests (SCR), cost reduction, value improvement, quality improvement, and warranty improvement/recovery, develop and implement communication plans with key stakeholders, and utilize Engineering Change Management (ECM) and Part Level Product Delivery Process (PLPDP) to ensure design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner.
Analyze, negotiate, and manage supply agreements to ensure compliance, continuity of supply, and company goals are achieved.
Resolve shipping, receiving, invoicing and payment problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology, Supply Management, Business highly preferred or equivalent work experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Ability to work as a leader and team member.
Project Management skills.
Excellent interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency with MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working knowledge of supply management processes, policies and procedures.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum of one year tactical supply management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with the SAP.
Ability to read part prints or drawings.
Knowledge of Part Level Product Delivery Process (PLPDP), AgPDM/PDMLink, and C-Projects.
