The Financial Communications division of McGraw-Hill Professional, has an exciting opportunity for aVice President, Group Publisher/Business , based in our New York City, NY office. Financial Communications is a provider of print and digital communications solutions for the financial services industry. Financial Communications (FC) offers banks, funds and brokerages the high-impact marketing materials, financial education products, and electronic tools they need to successfully attract and retain customers.
The VP/Group Publisher of Business is responsible for the leadership of McGraw-Hill Professional's global core (print) and digital Business enterprise. The VP/Group Publisher has overall responsibility for Business print and digital content strategy, technology execution, in addition to financial and P&L responsibility for the business.
Essential responsibilities include:
Set the content vision, strategy, and creative direction for Professional's Business publishing program (encompassing businesses, finance, health, self-help and FC)
Identify and initiate partnerships and strategic alliances to expand product development of new product formats, ideas, and innovative approaches across the organization
Position the digital Business vision and strategy by identifying product opportunities, and executing that strategy through new products and solutions
Identify new channels and partnerships for distribution of digital content and lead the organization in identifying 'digital-first" solutions
Integrate digital content strategy with content development strategy of core (print) team by leveraging existing digital products and services
Explore and set the vision for new digital models, technologies and media
Manage multi-year strategic plan to ensure sustainable revenue and profit growth
Analyze, review, and approve pricing models across the domestic and global organization
Articulate the business vision and represent Professional's interest globally
Spearhead efforts to acquire global authors and contributors
Partner with key McGraw-Hill franchises such as Standard & Poor's and BusinessWeek
Significant publishing experience, preferably in business and investing content
Experience in both print and digital publishing
Strong analytical, product development, management, communication, and financial skills
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage collaboration across internal departments
Ability to conceptualize. communicate, and execute strategy
Thorough understanding of book publishing procedures
An undergraduate degree, MBA preference
