Position Description
This position is to provide Liaison Engineering support to the Production Integration and Test Team conducting integration and test of the GMD Interceptor at the Interceptor Integration Facility, as well as GMD development activities conducted at the GMD laboratory facilities in Huntsville. This position will also be required to support interceptor integration and test at Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA and Fort Greely, AK. Leads others to analyze, conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for design non-conformances. Develops and implements product/process improvements. Uses innovative approaches and unique applications to address complex nonconforming conditions and to detect deviations, identification, resolution and closure of non-conformances encountered during interceptor testing. Analyzes reported problems for potential safety issues; recommends and manages complex resolution. Leads develop of interim and final solutions. Provides design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews. Represents the engineering community in the build through post production environment. This will require the ability to incorporate remedial and corrective action into non-conformances. Material Review Board certification is required for this position.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 9 to 13 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 7 to 11 years experience or a PhD degree with 4 to 8 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
