Position Description
Candidate will be the content author for NGA Source, and will support Source's publishing needs and assist in keeping web pages current and accurate. Will coordinate the content development efforts page and ensure all HTML content is compliant with Intelink and NGA document standards and meets the appropriate security requirements. Will help maintain CGI scripts (Perl and JavaScript). Will provide support in converting briefing materials (e.g., from PowerPoint) into an Intelink-publishable format (i.e., HTML, PDF) and ensure any data transfers from systems of other classification levels are conducted within security guidelines. Will create and maintain complex web pages, create links to complex sources (including text, graphics, and other related information), and perform routine website design/development (with assistance in complex situations.) Will be responsible for the broad administration and servicing of web content, design, policy, security, and standards. Responsible for quality control and inventory control to include checking, posting, and purging data. Skills required: Web development (Cold Fusion, HTML, CSS, Perl, JavaScript), graphics skills (creating and editing for web pages, documentation and PDF), knowledge of NGA web standards, knowledge of security needs, and database skills (Access, SQL). Assists customers to research and evaluate requirements for application or system design. Translates routine requirements into functional specifications. Provides assistance to design, develop, program, execute test plans, implement and document routine computing applications and software system architectures. Writes and compiles routine code and constructs routine database objects based on documented design. Modifies or upgrades applications to maintain software functionality. Provides user support by documenting, validating and researching reported problems and assists in developing user training. Provides assistance to review and maintain system architecture performance. Supports change management by compiling customer issues and requests. Works under general supervision.
