John Deere Des Moines Works is seeking an Product Engineer - Sprayer Design to be responsible for product design on self-propelled sprayer (SPS) in chassis group. In this position, you will:
Develop expert use of CAD/CAE methods in development of SPS following all necessary processes; i.e. Enterprise Product Development Process (EPDP), Deere Product Quality System (DPQS), Product Verification & Validation (PV&V)...etc.
Analyzes assignments and determines specifications in moderate scope.
Provides technical support and decision report changes to manufacturing, Quality, Supply Management and all related Product Development Process (PDP) support teams.
Develops and executes test and validation product design analysis, build, PV&V type activities through out PDP cycles at all phases.
Driving results and project completion with global SPS team members and/or contract resources; i.e. ITES.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or 6+ years of equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience in Pro/E, Pro/I and/or Windchill Prior.
Experience with off road equipment in Agriculture, Construction and Forestry or Commercial and Consumer Equipment products.
Ability to prioritize work and drive results.
Ability to work in team with diverse backgrounds in manufacturing environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
Prior design and configuration of self-propelled sprayer chassis.
Working knowledge of wheel & tire, suspension and vehicle dynamics.
Experience in structural analysis works for design validation is a plus.
Knowledge of PDP process, Quality and PV&V experience.
Fundamental understanding of mechanical system design and its manufacturing processes.
