The (E&D) Systems team is looking for a Senior Solution Manager. This person will have the unique responsibility of working closely with many disciplines (Development, Planning, Product Marketing, Finance, and Customer/Business Intelligence) within the Interactive Entertainment business.
The right candidate equally enjoys both IT Systems and Business and is drawn to the excitement of rapid changes related to emerging business strategies and employing information technology to meet business goals.
The ideal candidate understands how to get things done at Microsoft through influence and collaboration. She/He also understands complex strategies and has a broad business background that adds strategic value to the role. This position requires extensive cross-group coordination at all levels, outstanding communication skills, excellent project management skills, creative problem solving and a highly organized, process-focused aptitude to manage a variety of responsibilities and deliverables. A candidate must be prepared to succeed against aggressive goals with minimum supervision, be comfortable working with internal and external partners and virtual teams.
You will need to understand the strategy and processes of the business unit and work with the process owners to develop the requirements and ensure quality delivery of business value.
Core job responsibilities:
Build relationships with business sponsors, understand their commitments, and establish trust and dialogue on how to support those commitments
Partner with key business stakeholders and business user teams to provide trusted advisor thought leadership in defining business architecture and business process, identifying systems investment options, drive collaboration and consensus and accomplish product and systems development around the globe
Review business and systems practices and processes, creating partnerships with both business clients & Program Management peers to drive alignment of business strategy, business processes and supporting solutions
Develop and deliver on a global vision, strategy and future state architecture for the systems solutions
Document business case and business requirements definitions including business opportunity, incorporating the vision of solution and business workflows
Elicit and articulate requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints
Document requirements clearly, concisely, comprehensively to appeal to development teams and to business stakeholders who must review and approve
Develop and present solution proposals & recommendations, including analysis of options, justifications, and tradeoffs
Assist business stakeholders in prioritizing change requests and initiatives while influencing strategy by clearly conveying IT constraints and dependencies
Partner with peer senior solutions and business managers ensuring alignment with global Systems technology roadmap and architectures
Determine and document user acceptance criteria and drive user acceptance testing (UAT)
Ensure final solution delivery meets the critical business needs of the sponsor
Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years experience in a functional or business consulting role driving business strategy, architecture, process re-engineering, IT solution delivery / product management
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering projects in a fast pasted environment
Involvement in software selection and proof of concept activities
Advanced verbal and written communication skills including facilitation leadership and presentation development
Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across groups and all management levels
Ability to excel in ambiguous business situations by adapting plans and approach
Analytical and organizational skills. Sound problem resolution, negotiation, judgment and decision-making skills
Solid Microsoft Office Skills: Visio, Project, Outlook, Word and advanced Excel
BA or BS degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or related field. Graduate professional degree preferred
