Position Description
Boeing-St. Louis Software Engineering is seeking software engineers with experience in Aerospace and scientific programming to staff existing and emerging programs in the Support Systems business unit. Responsibilities include (1) Design, develop, integrate and test computer software programs for trainer programs, ground-based aircraft support programs or mission planning programs; (2) Full life-cycle development and support of software programs delivered to our customers - from requirements analysis and definition through delivery and field support. A Level 2 position requires experience in an engineering or product development environment with at least one (1) year in a structured software development environment using a high-level language targeting an embedded real-time operating system, such as VxWorks. In addition, experience in requirements analysis, design, and integration is required. A working knowledge of C++, C, Ada and/or FORTRAN is highly desired. Knowledge of several of the following subjects is also desired: Real-Time Simulation, Object Oriented Methodology, Structured Design, OpenGL, Graphical User Interface Design, Windows and Linux. Familiarity with formal development processes and current software engineering topics, such as the Software Engineering Institutes Capability Maturity Model Integrated is desirable. Must have strong inter-personnel and communication skills.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 2 to 4 years experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with up to 2 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Prefer Bachelor of Science (BS) / Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering, with strong math skills and software engineering emphasis.
