Position Description
This position is in support of USMC and USAF V-22 Osprey Tilt-Rotor aircraft. Knowledge of customer standard maintenance practices is highly desirable. The job requires ability to provide customer support based on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year support concept. Nose to tail aircraft system knowledge is desired. Expertise in airframes and mechanical systems is required. Foreign and domestic travel will be required based on unscheduled on demand customer requests. Lead analysis of information to evaluate reported discrepancies. Collaborate with engineering disciplines to influence improvements in product designs and operational criteria. Review manufacturing non-conformity data for potential impact to in-service fleet. Develop Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and Service Instructions. Initiate and monitor complex quality investigations and participate in development of solutions. Lead teams to conduct research on complex technical, maintenance, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer. Review complex problems for potential safety issues. Develop in-service correspondence on complex multi discipline systems for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Respond to Digital Field Service Reports (DFSRs) and Technical Assist Referrals (TARs). Participate in complex accident or disabled product on-site surveys or investigations. This job requires ability to coordinate engineering solutions to complex customer problems across multiple IPTs. Make recommendations to improve NAMP maintenance programs, USMC and USAF maintenance concept, and V-22 support products. Manages moderately complex or multiple projects. Monitor cost and schedule performance for assigned projects. Identify risks, issues, and opportunities associated with assigned projects. Develop risk mitigation plans and take actions to resolve issues. Identify opportunities for process improvements. Mentor others. Work under pressure and with minimal direction.

Extensive and specialized knowledge of systems and equipment for landing gear retraction, extension and ground handling including retract/extend systems, wheels, tires, braking and steering design, performance and integration. Tire pressure and brake temperature monitoring systems are also included.

Extensive, specialized knowledge of aircraft structure, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes (e.g. non destructive testing, corrosion prevention)

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree and 10 to 14 years' related work experience, a Master's degree and 8 to 12 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Job related information
This position will have a high level of interaction with the Field Services Mod and Retrofit Management Team. Review projects and proposals for aircraft modification and retrofit to provide material and labor estimates. Lead field depot level repair or aircraft modification and retrofit activities. Coordinate development of repair, materials procurement, manpower, aircraft availability, and equipment. Knowledge of company and customer configuration management processes is a plus. Knowledge of CPES, REDARS, MS2, COGNOS, IMICS, Quality Assurance, Contracting, Open Plan and MS Project is desired. Knowledge of SA, Tech Pubs, Spares, Support Equipment, ILS processes and how those disciplines are impacted by modification and retrofit is also desired.
