Overview :
The Assistant Store Manager Apparel/Footwear supports the store manager in all aspects of store merchandising and operations including selling, leadership of department leads and product specialists, customer relations, stock, visual merchandising, asset protection and training.
Responsibilities :
•Assist in leading the store in the absence of and along side the Store Manager
•Recruit, hire, train and develop exempt and non-exempt associates ensuring excellent customer service, operational effectiveness, high levels of product knowledge and an understanding of asset protection
•Ensure prompt, efficient and courteous customer service while maintaining a clean, customer friendly store environment
•Review operational reports and records to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures
•Oversee performance of Department leads, Product Specialists and all associates with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company funds and property, personnel practices, security, sales and record-keeping procedures.
Qualifications :
•2+ years prior retail management experience, preferably in a “big box” format.
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
•Proven ability to lead and develop solid teams, manage process, and build relationships and influence decisions.
•Outstanding oral and written communication, interpersonal, persuasive, leadership and negotiation skills are required to interact with all levels of the store team.
•Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•Flexibility and adaptability to change with ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities.
