The OEM and Operator Response team in the Windows Mobile group helps phone manufacturers like Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Sony Ericsson, LGE ship the latest Windows Mobile phones to leading world wide Mobile Operators like Cingular, Verizon, Vodafone, T Mobile, NTT DoCoMo, China Mobile etc. The team has overall engineering responsibility to ensure that the volume goals are met for the division. To this end the group works directly with these partners to enable shipments of over 140 device - operator pairings in the previous year and growing by over 30% YOY. This work results in over 35 software releases of QFE and Platform Enhancements over the last year and this is projected to grow as Windows Mobile adoption increases.
To help us scale our releases to meet the demand, we are seeking a great Release Program Manager. This person will be responsible for setting up release schedules and running multiple releases concurrently. The candidate will have to work closely with the Operator and OEM facing teams to ensure that resources are planned and forecast to meet the expected release workload. The candidate will work with all the engineering triage teams to ensure that the releases are being done in a timely fashion. The candidate will be the sole relationship owner to the Windows Mobile engineering services team (MESE) who will provide IT and release infrastructure to enable the releases. All partner communication regarding final release availability as well as interim software drops to partners will be handled by the candidate.
In addition to release management responsibility, this person will be responsible for creating, maintaining and updating KPIs for the team and presenting weekly status and monthly status rollups to the OORT team as well as Windows Mobile Group as a whole. This will entail also owning the OORT team wide dashboard and website that is used by management, customer facing teams and the field sales teams.
