Cardio Technician
|
Job Description:
As part of an ongoing expansion at our research center in East Millstone NJ, we have several current openings for entry-level and experienced technicians with backgrounds in Veterinary Technology, Animal Sciences, Biological Sciences or equivalent. The successful candidates will join the multi-disciplined division of Toxicology Operations working in an AAALAC accredited organization. As a technician you will have the opportunity to contribute to a critical phase in the development of Pharmaceutical products. Participate in studies on surgically altered animals.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a scientific discipline
For senior level positions, technicians must have experience in a GLP environment involving the use of laboratory animals and experience administering test substances via a variety of routes. A LAT certification is desirable but not required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine and non-routine technical procedures on a broad range of study types and species within the department.
Specializes in a range of techniques and non-routine procedures.
Collects data manually and using various computer systems.
Performs routine biological sample collection.
Has a working knowledge of calculations.
Maintains records of all study activities; prepares forms, books and files for collection and storage of such records.
Assists in surgical preparation, recovery, and post surgical monitoring.
Actively involved in all aspects of studies for all surgical animals.
Ensures that duties are performed according to protocol requirements and adheres to the guidelines of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and The Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals .
