Why take your talent and passion anywhere else? Job Overview: ATMI is seeking a highly motivated, experiencedProduction Supervisor to join our Manufacturing Team inBloomington , MN . The successful candidate will have experience leading a manufacturing process of product lines according to specific criteria (predetermined production, cost, service, quality and safety levels). This candidate should also have effective supervision of his/her team, utilizing proven techniques in planning, organizing, motivating, and empowerment. Overall performance is measured by output of quality product (including first pass yield and scrap), on time delivery, employee turnover, employee morale, as well as employee development. The position reports to the Manager, Operations. Primary Responsibilities:
Provide training, development and management of the 2 nd shift production team (2pm – 10:30pm);
Hold production leads accountable to goals and improvement plans while developing their leadership and coaching skills;
Organize staff to maximize efficiency (ie. Throughput, first pass yield, safety, quality) at the lowest cost;
Interface with others in the organization to ensure production needs and customer requirements are met;
Champion safety processes and ensure that improvements for a safer workplace are properly prioritized and executed;
Establish/adjust work schedules to meet production expectations;
Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product;
Implement any necessary changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew;
Work with employees to resolve work issues;
Maintains time and production records as needed;
Assist in developing capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times;
Ensure employees are trained on procedures relating to safety, product, and quality;
Ensure inventory accuracy levels are maintained to plan.
Set goals and conduct quarterly reviews;
Generate employee development/improvement plans. Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree preferred, plus 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training;
Previous clean room experience is preferred, adhering to clean-room protocol is a required;
Prior experience leading a diverse workforce;
Experience with communicating with internal and external customers;
Strong working knowledge of MS Office;
KBM or Six Sigma experience preferred;
APICS Certification preferred.
