John Deere Waterloo Works is seeking a “Variable Shift” Foundry Supervisor for a training development program where the successful candidate will learn while working on a rotation from Foundry to Drive Train, then to Tractor Cab Assembly. At the end of the rotation, the candidate will return to the Foundry for a permanent assignment. In this position, you will:

Supervise wage employees to improve CIPP performance, efficiency, Product First Pass Yield, Process First Pass Yield and Low-hr warranty.
Review the status of defined CI GROW project list at least twice / month and coordinate required resources in a manner which improves the utilization of manpower and materials.
Support the annual operating budget by reviewing, scrutinizing and challenging all costs that appear to be unnecessary for the implementation of DPS, CI Grow and the 6-day tractor for the JDWW.
Guide and support the process of continuous improvement in all facts of operations including employee relations and commitment, safety, human resources, quality, order fulfillment, manufacturing cost, manufacturing, new product development and customer satisfaction.
Implement and document solutions (permanent corrective action) in cooperation with the safety organization to reduce our injury rate.
Participate in New Product Program Review meetings as required and support the introduction of new programs.
Plan and coordinate efforts with other departments to achieve overall objectives.
Facilitate development of long range goals and objectives to improve manufacturing.
Facilitate and support the development and training of assigned employees.





Education

Bachelor’s degree in a business/technical discipline or relevant work experience.
Required Skills and Experience

Demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desired Skills and Experience

Supervisory experience.
Experience working in a union environment.
3+ years of foundry experience.
Experience working with Incentive Pay Plans.
Mechanical and/or electrical experience.
