John Deere World Headquarters is seeking a Supply Base Manager to lead Strategic Sourcing Process and Center of Excellence for Gearboxes, Final Drives, and PTOs sourced globally and internally using a cross-functional team. Includes the implementation of strategies within the enterprise; supporting Product Delivery Process (PDP), Technology Delivery Process (TDP), and Critical Component Delivery Process (CCDP); managing supplier relationships. In this position, you will:



Use cross-functional team for developing strategies, gathering data, quote preparation to make fact-based decision regarding sourcing needs.
Lead implementation of strategies.
Be responsible for managing supplier relationship and performance, including negotiation of long-term supplier agreements.
Lead global sourcing team to develop and implement strategies designed to optimize to best performing, lowest cost supply base.
Define, resolve, and implement permanent solutions to systemic supplier performance problems.
Integrate suppliers into Product Design.
Lead and motivate indirect reports/cross functional team members.
Work with Supply Base Managers in other divisions with responsibility for same commodity areas.
Drive aftermarket implementation strategy for specific commodities.




Education



Four year degree in Engineering, Supply Management, Marketing/Sales or equivalent experience required.
MBA desired.




Required Skills and Experience



5 plus years experience within Supply Management specific to strategic sourcing.
Supply Management, manufacturing, or engineering background.
Strong interpersonal communications, and negotiations skills.
Fundamental understanding of business principle and practices.
Supply Management application and process knowledge.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, both domestically and internationally.
Ability and willingness to travel abroad for extended periods of time.


Desired Skills and Experience



Understanding of data warehouse and business objects
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Fluent bilingual abilities in English/Spanish (Reading, Writing, Presentations, Verbal/Oral).
Demonstrated project management experience leading cross function teams of engineering, supply management, quality, and manufacturing.
Experience within a global business environment.
Desired experience/knowledge in the following commodities: Gearboxes, Final Drives, PTO’s or Castings.
