Our team is responsible for building the test framework and verification suites to test the functionality of major hardware products Microsoft builds such as the Xbox 360 and Surface at factories and repair centers around the world. Our code manages the manufacturing process, runs a battery of tests at each stage of production, collects detailed information about each device being built and tracks the results of every test run. Our data is used to make critical business decisions as well as ongoing product quality improvements and essential cost reductions.
We are looking for a Program Manager that is passionate for making sure our systems and suites are world-class and up to the challenge of testing the millions of devices Microsoft will build in the months and years ahead. We are seeking a proven project leader and team builder that can work across the entire division, coordinating with partners and customers, to deliver high-quality software releases on time. You must excel at working in a collaborative environment that spans multiple time zones, be able to coordinate numerous deliverables and dependencies, be able to quickly understand and incorporate new technologies and services, have strong technical skills, and be passionate about producing high-impact results and delivering top quality products every time.
Requirements:
* At least 4 years of experience as a Program Manager, shipping products.
* Experience with low-level system APIs and device drivers a plus
* Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality software on time.
* Excellent project management skills, including coordinating complex schedules across teams and time zones
* Ability to juggle and appropriately prioritize multiple high-profile projects at once.
* Experience with large projects built with C# and/or C++.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to negotiate with other teams and partners, including external vendors.
* Experience with using software to test hardware systems or manufacturing processes a plus
* A BS CS/EE degree or equivalent
