Position Description
As a member of the National Team 'B', the selected individual will be responsible for all of the C2BMC sites within the National Capitol Region (NCR) with regard to design of the supporting sites, connectivity architecture of these sties, and complete hardware installation, checkout and maintenance of the equipment. Manage drawing schedule for all site designs. Prepare BOEs when engineering drawings and site engineering services are required. Maintain and upgrade NCR site location equipment as required. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Works under minimal direction. ---------------------Technical Skills/Experience Required---------------------------------- Experience with computer processing hardware, communications and network architecture and design, systems engineering, including system level requirements, architecture, and design. Proven written and oral communications skills necessary. Experience designing and developing communication and network architectures for large, complex systems is required. Experience with industry standard communication protocols is desired. Experience with the Ballistic Missile Defense System in a Command and Control system/environment is highly desired. Experience with other DoD command and control, or missile defense systems, or command centers is highly desired. The candidate must be able to prepare network hardware designs using commercially available tools. Direct experience with netViz and Visio is required. A DoD SECRET level clearance is a must, TOP SECRET clearance a plus. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 9 to 13 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 7 to 11 years experience or a PhD degree with 4 to 8 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
