Position Description
This position is with the National Team 'B'. The selected Engineer will Lead 15 Network design Engineers to deliver Spiral releases and new Network capabilities on the National team for the Missile Defense Agency. Ability to focus team effort to introduce new communication capabilities in a world wide network using fiber optic and Satellite communication transport media. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify highly-complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Leads, develops designs and conducts research that results in new requirements management methodologies or result in unique approaches that mitigate assessment/review findings. Creates and implements strategic approaches for program and business area decisions. Works independently. -----------------------Technical Skills/Experience Required------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Senior Network Design Engineer with proven experience in design ,development, Integration, and testing of DoD communication Network systems. Knowledge of Missile Defense System is a plus. Proven experience as a network designer and implementer in the DoD environment. Formal leadership training is a plus. Leadership and communications skills are a must. Candidate will be responsible to provide effective communications through several avenues, written, oral, and stand up briefings to the IPT leadership and the Customer. Cots communication familiarity, Link 16, and DoD Satellite System experience, knowledge of commercial satellite systems is a plus. Current DoD SECRET clearance required, a TOP SECRET clearance a plus.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 20 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 18 years' experience or a PhD degree with a minimum of 15 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
