Position Description
Responsibilities include lead for the communication network system design for concurrent training, testing and operations (CTTO) efforts. Candidate will focus on the design changes , integration and testing of these changes that support CTTO. Candidate may develop deliverable documents including test plans and procedures, and perform document reviews. Strong teamwork, collaboration, verbal and written presentation skills are required. Some travel will be required to support site implementation, beginning with requirements gathering, and ending with implementation. Pluses include familiarity with DoD message standards (MIL-STD-3011 App C), Link 16 or Mil StD 6016 B or C experience with multicast, high availability designs, experience with network management systems, including Joint Network Management System, Neural Star, experience with NETWARS/OPNET network performance capacity modeling, and experience with network drawing tools such as Visio or NetViz. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Works under consultative direction. --------------Technical skills/experience required: --------------------------------- Familiarity with COTs communication products including Cisco routers, switches, Cisco IOS, Marconi ATM switches, Domain Name Servers (DNS), Sidewinder firewalls, and data encryption products including the KG-175 TACLANE. Proven Communication Network Engineering in the DoD environment. Knowledge of MDA and the BMDS. Current DoD Secret Clearance required, a TOP SECRET a plus.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 14 to 19 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 12 to 17 years experience or a PhD degree with 9 to 14 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
