Position Description
Responsibilities include lead for the communication network system design and role as the chief communication engineer on the National Team. Candidate will focus on the design changes , integration and testing of these changes that support BMDS network capabilities. Candidate may develop deliverable documents including test plans and procedures, and perform document reviews. Strong teamwork, collaboration, verbal and written presentation skills are required. Some travel will be required to support site implementation, beginning with requirements gathering, and ending with implementation. Pluses include familiarity with DoD message standards (MIL-STD-3011 App C), Link 16 or Mil StD 6016 B or C. Experience with multicast, high availability designs, experience with network management systems, including Joint Network Management System, Neural Star, experience with NETWARS/OPNET network performance capacity modeling, and experience with network drawing tools such as Visio or NetViz. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify highly-complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads, develops designs and conducts research that results in new requirements management methodologies or result in unique approaches that mitigate assessment/review findings. Creates and implements strategic approaches for program and business area decisions. Works independently. ----------------------Technical Skills/Experience Required:--------------------------------------------------------------- Familiarity with COTs communication products including Cisco routers, switches, Cisco IOS, Marconi ATM switches, Domain Name Servers (DNS), Sidewinder firewalls, and data encryption products including the KG-175 TACLANE. Proven Communication Network Engineering in the DoD environment. Knowledge of MDA and the BMDS. Leadership and communications skills are a must. Candidate will be responsible to provide effective communications through several avenues, written, oral, and stand up briefings to the IPT leadership and the Customer. Candidate must be able to resolve complex programmatic issues through technical analysis and adherence to NTB business processes. . Minimum DoD Secret Clearance, Top Secret is a plus.

Education and/or Experience

ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
