Position Description
The C2BMC Software Integration team has responsibility for the final integration of the C2BMC system (consisting of many separate products) prior to delivering to the Integration and Test IPT for formal test. The integration engineer will work at the 6.4 integration lab in Crystal City, Va, but travel to the development sites in Huntsville, AL and Colorado Springs, CO will be required. When the system is ready to be fielded, travel to the deployment sites may also be required. Specific tasks will include, but are not limited to: Installation and configuration of Sun and Windows HW platforms from the OS up to the C2BMC developed applications. Documentation and verification of all installation and configuration steps in documentation to be delivered to the customer. Develop installation scripts to automate the system installation. Support running SW integration test to verify the system operation. Submit problem reports for errors found. Responsible for implementing all Information Assurance directives on the systems to include running IA scans and developing/updating automated scripts to apply required IA lockdowns and fixes. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Works under minimal direction. ----------------------Technical Skills/Experience Required:--------------------------------------------------------------- The position requires previous experience in the integration of separate software products into a single system. Strong technical skills are required to include: - Experience integrating complex applications on Windows and Solaris platforms - Experience with Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system. - Experience with Sun Solaris and Windows system administration - Experience with scripting languages - Familiarity with DNS, NIS and PDC configuration and maintenance - Familiarity with software development required, and experience with Java and object oriented development a plus. Background required includes experience in the integration of separate software packages into a single system. - Requires hands-on experience installing and setting up systems from the OS to application level on SUN and Windows based platforms. - Requires experience writing installation manuals. Must be able to write clear, concise system installation and configuration instructions. - The ability to work in a fast paced environment and with limited supervision is required. - Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with software developers, system administrators, and analysis and test engineers. -Experience in the command and control and missile defense is a plus. Active DoD SECRET clearance required, TOP SECRET clearance a plus.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 9 to 13 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 7 to 11 years experience or a PhD degree with 4 to 8 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
