Position Description
Position description and responsibilities: Depending on the specific skills of the successful applicant, duties may include the formulation and performance of C2BMC-related analyses with the potential application of a large scale system simulation or development of modeling requirements for the C2BMC test/analysis tool and verification of those requirements in the delivered product. Duties will also include participation in decisions regarding system/element representations and modeling parameters used in the large scale simulation. Position involves interacting with and supporting the other MDNTB IPTs, as well as documentation and presentation of requirement and analysis results. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Works under consultative direction. ----------------------Technical Skills/Experience Required:---------------------- Thorough understanding of one or more technical specialty areas associated with missile defense system acquisition. Technical specialty areas may include, but are not limited to radar design and performance; endo/exo atmospheric interceptor design and performance; simulation of large, complex systems; requirements development for large scale system simulations; requirements or performance analysis using models and simulations; or large scale system simulation verification and validation. Desired: Knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense concepts, Battle Management and Command and Control (BM/C2) systems, or defense communications systems. Specific knowledge of one or more BMD elements, such as GMD, Aegis BMD, PATRIOT, et al. is also a plus. Requires DoD SECRET clearance, TOP SECRET a plus.

Technical
[ + ] Modeling and Simulation
Expert knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C++, Matlab, Visual Basic, C, Assembly, C#, Java). Expert knowledge of modeling and prototyping tools (e.g., Matlab , MathCAD, manufacturer specific tools for signal processing software). Expert knowledge of computing equipment and its operating systems (e.g., Windows, Unix, Linux). Expert knowledge of software development and testing tools (e.g., editors, compilers, linkers, desktop simulations, configuration management tools, requirements management tools) capability and usage.
[ + ] Network Systems
Advanced, expert knowledge of network communication concepts, principles and architectures, associated with network planning, design, integration and maintenance. End-to-end knowledge of network transport technologies, systems, environments, services, protocols, performance monitoring and diagnostic analysis.
