Position Description
Primary responsibility will be to Concurrent Test, Training, and Operations (CTTO) program, with secondary as back-up to C2BMC Core program. System Safety engineering and development of program safety plans to provide training to provide engineering team with application of safety policies and guidance. Individual will provide support to Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and other program personnel as required as well as other system engineering tasks as required. Successful candidate will interface with team members and National Team-B (NTB) management to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available. Responsibilities include integration of the product lines (BM, C2, Comm), generation of responsible sections of the capability specifications, training less experienced personnel in SE techniques, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as required basis. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Works under consultative direction. -----------------------Technical Skills/Experience Required------------------------------------------------ Candidate should possess System Engineering with specializing in System and Software Safety with the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with defining the physical, functional, and technical architecture necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS Battle Management, Command & Control, and Communications effort. Skills required include: identification and definition of desired capabilities; modeling the interrelationships between internal and external components; communicating the desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users; and generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities. Successful candidate will possess in depth knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, and techniques. Minimum of 7-10 years of system engineering and software systems engineering experience required in developing new and integrating existing systems. Experience should include specific roles in Battle Management and Command & Control systems with an understanding of DoD safety programs highly desired. Ability to analyze high level needs and through a structured and logical approach refine the need into an integrated set of hardware and software. Excellent communications skills desired (written and oral). Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Able to implement engineering plans within a project. Must be a self-starter and able to lead portion of the activity and direct the activities of junior and mid-level engineers. Current active DoD SECRET clearance required, TOP SECRET clearance a plus.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 14 to 19 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 12 to 17 years experience or a PhD degree with 9 to 14 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
