Position : Principal HydroGeologist

Description :


Our Natural Resource, Industry and Infrastructure (NRII) services unit is looking to add a Principal Hydrogeologist to support their Walnut Creek, California office location. The primary responsibilities for this role will include:

' Providing high-end hydrogeology support and leadership for a wide range of domestic and international projects;
' Preparing and/or overseeing development and preparation of proposals, working directly with clients and delivery teams to ensure documents meet the needs of the client;
' Performing Project Manager duties, including preparing and negotiating contracts and subcontracts, developing preliminary budgets, determining project scope, establishing schedules, assigning project staff, approving invoices, and other duties as required to ensure quality and profitability;
' Leading large, complex teams through challenging project assignments and complex client environments;
' Managing and interpreting data collected from projects covering a wide range of hydrogeologic and other earth-science-related topics;
' Preparing reports and presentations, summarizing the results of hydrogeologic investigations;
' Managing mid- to large-sized, complex, multi-disciplined projects;
' Providing mentorship and guidance to junior-level earth science staff; and
' Establishing and maintaining positive, professional relationships with current and prospective clients.

Qualifications

' Bachelor's of Science in Hydrogeology, MS or PhD a plus;
' 15+ years of progressive experience in hydrogeology;
' Must have technical competence in hydrogeology directly applicable to site characterization, groundwater management, reclamation and remediation;
' A sound understanding of various characterization and drilling techniques, water quality assessments, and modeling techniques is required;
' Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with staff at all levels is required;
' Strong organizational skills;
' Proven skills in managing projects and teams, building relationships both internally and externally, and negotiating with multiple stakeholders on behalf of clients is required;
' Experience in geochemistry, fate and transport, and water resources is a plus
