John Deere Construction and Forestry is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to direct and support the Electrical commodity group within the quality organization. In this position, you will:

Engage in applying/leading Quality tools on Customer Support Process (CSP), Continuous Improvement (CI), and/or Value Improvement (VI) teams.
Investigate product quality problems, determine root cause for quality problems, gather and analyze data and implements corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or reclaim.
Assist in identifying, communicating and resolving supplier quality problems. Engage in supplier quality plan formulation as necessary. Conduct audits of new and existing suppliers to determine manufacturing capability and adherence to accepted quality practices. Drive prevention actions.
Interact with all departments within the division and with the suppliers to which they are assigned.
Travel both domestic and international for this position ranges between 25-40%.



Education

Degree in Engineering/Technology, Science or Math disciplines preferred.
Required Skills and Experience

Basic understanding of electrical components and the processes used to manufacture.
Experience using quality tools such as Process & Design FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical techniques, DMAIC, and GD&T.
Understanding of drawings-schematics and test techniques and equipment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge of heavy equipment manufacturing or related assembly processes.
ASQ Certification.
An understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and equipment.
