John Deere Agricultural Equipment Des Moines is seeking a Product Design Engineer - Sprayers to assume design responsibilities associated with self propelled agricultural sprayer solution systems including light weight welded structures, castings, pin joints and mechanical suspensions. In this position, you will:
Work with cross functional teams to develop and validate designs.
Develop and release design of components and/or sub systems for current and future product programs.
Monitor and evaluate field test activities to confirm functionality of design.
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or 6+ years of equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical systems.
Excellent communication skills - must interface successfully with Engineers and personnel of other disciplines.
1+ years product engineering experience.
Proficiency with problem identification and resolution.
Ability to quickly assess problems, assign priority, and manage corrective actions on several simultaneous issues.
Proactive approach to problem resolution.
Fundamental understanding of FEA concepts, methods, and applications.
Experience with Pro/E.
Knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Knowledge in Root Cause Analysis processes.
Knowledge of Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) processes and execution methodologies.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience reviewing and creating specifications for products.
Experience servicing and/or maintaining machinery.
Statistical Analysis capability.
Demonstrated project management, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Project, Word, PowerPoint.
