Senior Internet Operations Support Engineer
The individual must be a highly motivated professional who is process focused, extremely detail oriented, with strong system administration skills and project management experience. Programming and network management experience are also required.
This position will be primarily focused on the day to day system administration of company production and QA server infrastructure, and managing new technology and product deployments.
Responsibilities:
-System administration for both Windows 2003 and Linux servers
-Managing and improving the production release process for new applications.
-New server setup and hardware troubleshooting and maintenance.
-Working closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new applications.
-Developing and maintaining tools to automate server setup and other tasks as necessary for effective system administration.
-Establishing best practices for server and application management.
-Participating in the 24x365 on call rotation.
Requirements:
-Expert knowledge of Windows 2003 and IIS 6 administration.
-Strong Linux/Unix system administration knowledge.
-Proven ability to manage complex projects with demanding deadlines.
-Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of TCP/IP networking.
-Knowledge of network technologies and hardware.
-Excellent problem solving skills.
-Effective teamwork and good communication skills and the ability to mentor peers.
-Strong knowledge of server hardware installation, configuration and maintenance.
-6+ years of related experience in IT or Internet Operations support. Bachelor's degree in CS/MIS or equivalent training and certifications.
-3+ years supporting Windows 2003 server and IIS 6 in a high-uptime environment.
-Experience supporting Windows 2003 and Linux/Unix systems in a production environment.
-Familiarity with .Net framework development and support.
-Programming experience with perl, Unix shell scripts, C# and PowerShell.
-Experience in process development and documentation.
-Familiarity with network and systems security best practices desired.
