John Deere Construction & Forestry Division is seeking a Product Applications Consultant to support the Division's sales, marketing and training efforts. In this position, you will:

Demonstrate John Deere Construction & Forestry equipment to dealers, customers and division employees.
Actively consult with and influence sales to elite customers on all forms of John Deere equipment.
Be regarded as an application and operational expert for the product lines.
Evaluate product performance and provide key feedback on recommendations for improvement to product development teams, marketing departments and design engineering.
Consult with strategic business partners (Hitachi, Liebherr, Bell, etc.) worldwide to assist Deere marketing and engineering units to determine if the performance / application of a product is acceptable.
Evaluate new model pre-production machines for design engineering to ensure customer acceptance and satisfaction. Compare performance to machines produced by competitors.
Work with Training Center managers and instructors on developing training materials, product information, and design product launch programs that will be delivered to John Deere dealers and customers.
Collaborate with Marketing Communications on product model advertising as well as with training media on video productions.
Collaborate with dealers to support product introductions and open-house activities.
Design, choreograph, narrate and deploy product demonstrations at John Deere demo sites and on location for channel partners and customers.
Establish and maintain Demo sites, relevant tools, machines, operation aids, demonstration materials and/or training materials.
Conduct level three operator training at John Deere demo sites and at dealer and customer locations.
Promote John Deere products at customer jobsites by addressing performance issues and making application recommendations.



Education

Bachelor's degree in a Marketing, Business or Engineering discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Required Skills and Experience

Experience as a machine operator in all required machine forms in a commercial, contractor or governmental environment.
Ability to operate all Deere Construction & Forestry equipment and relevant competitive equipment.
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with John Deere dealers, engineers, instructors and retail customers.
Ability to travel worldwide (approximately 35%).
Ability to set up, execute and narrate equipment demonstrations at dealer and customer sites.
Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions.
Desired Skills and Experience

Broad knowledge of the theory of application, including how to set up job sites, properly move materials, utilize terrain, or layout field plans.
Experience and proven operating skills as well as an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners.
Practical experience with the John Deere dealer network.
Experience operating relevant machines in pressure situations in front of large audiences or important clients.
Experience delivering training programs.
