Responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. Follow an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives. Resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
* Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements.
* Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
* Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
* Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
* Share information and promote open dialogue.
* Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.
* Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
* Read and interpret blueprints, symbols and geometric tolerances based on military & commercial specifications.
* Possible international travel several times a year for process development, customer interaction or technical development.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
Desired
* Able to conceptualize developmental and production tooling.
* Proficient in any or all of the following software applications: Keycreator, Unigraphics, Solidworks.
* Able to create models.
* Able to manage engineering projects by using MS Project and other MS Office products.
* Familiarity with specifications and requirements for aerospace component manufacturing that includes having knowledge of aerospace welding, coatings, heat treatment, machining and sheetmetal fabrications.
* Strong math background including trigonometry and geometry.
* Able to research, understand and implement new technologies for possible cost savings and process improvements.
* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-based environment.
* Experience mounting weld test samples, performing metallurgical testing and evaluation of work performed.
* Able to perform hands-on shop and design work.
