John Deere Waterloo Works is seeking a Supervisor - Quality Inspection of Drivetrain Assembly's Quality Audit Department to develop and manage a variety of processes necessary to maintain and improve the quality of Drivetrain products, including but not limited to: Torque auditing; Release Inspection; Product Assembly audit; and Discrepant material processing. In this position, you will:
Manage a department of 20 wage employees, as well as one or more part-time student employees, to execute the above processes.
Be responsible for continually improving employee safety and work environment (5S).
Maintain and improve the quality of services provided. Create and implement new processes as needs arise.
Develop and manage the departmental budget.
Provide labor to help production departments address and recover from quality issues.
Qualifications
Education
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering disciplines or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Previous supervisory experience.
Experience making formal presentations to management and peers.
Knowledge of assembly processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience in data analysis and statistics.
ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer or Quality Manager.
Familiarity with Deere Production System (DPS) and Deere Product Quality System (DPQS) or other formal Production/Quality systems.
