We are seeking an individual who can help provide knowledge, expertise, charisma and GUSTO to deliver an amazing experience building applications on Windows Mobile. Windows Mobile provides Mobile service providers with an open phone software platform and unique Microsoft applications and services with which to cost-effectively create, deploy and manage differentiated and revenue-generating voice and data services for a plethora of business and consumer mobile devices. Since shipping our first phone 5 years ago, Windows Mobile software has achieved amazing momentum with more than 140 models now available from 125 operators across 55 countries. If you are interested in Mobile gaming, Mobile entertainment in Music and TV, Location based services, Mobile marketplace and the ability to influence and direct the discoverability and monetization of Mobile applications and services; this is the role for you. Your challenge is to drive the mobile developer planning and evangelism program that moves the mobile platform forward, embraces major Microsoft platform investments and ultimately delights and entertains our customers. Your success will be measured by your ability to work closely with the product and planning teams to develop a comprehensive developer marketing plan, work across groups to synthesize Microsoft's forward-looking tools and development and environment strategy, and work with our marketing and business development teams to evangelize our strategy and value proposition to the development community. You will be part of the new and exciting ISV, Developer Experience and Accelerators team whose mission is to lead the platform adoption of Windows Mobile, Windows Live Mobile and new Microsoft Services as the Mobile Platform of Choice for developers and ISV to innovate and monetize rich mobile applications and services. These team is chartered to secure the future of the Microsoft mobile platform with developer audiences that spans across corporate and commercial developers, In-Rom developers, next generation developers in startups, students and social developers that writes plug-ins, widgets and mash-up applications today. Key Responsibilities: Defining and articulating Windows Mobile developer value proposition across multiple audiences including professional and non-professional developers, ISV, Online service providers, Operators and OEMs. Performing deep technical and business analysis of competing platforms and technologies Integrating with business development and program management teams within the division and across the company to align product priorities, market needs and opportunities. Work closely with the regional and subsidiary teams, partner teams, and marketing teams across the company in order to speak with one voice to the developer community through existing and new Microsoft channels. Collaborate with marketing communications team to broaden developer and rich application messaging. Develop & define specific outreach mechanisms (web, partner channels, etc.), to connect with mobile developer segments and ISVs Drive developer outreach at established Microsoft events such as MIX, TechEd, and the Professional Developers Conference Develop new channels for engaging developers that are not typically covered by established developer profiles, through new events and non-traditional means Team up with Product Development, Product Management, and Marketing to effectively drive demand, develop campaigns, and create any associated collateral Work with constituents on the marketing and business development team to identify key developer propositions that may strengthen the product offering, and aid in bringing those solutions to market as part of the product To be successful you'll need the following skills: - Prefer 10+ years extensive experience in product planning, product management, marketing experience; with keen understanding of the Mobile and wireless industry and will be able to quickly grasps the business and product implications of new wireless technologies, standards and services. At least 7+ years experience in marketing strategy development / Evangelism within or outside Microsoft - Superb analytical and data driven decision-making skills; the ability to think strategically about business and technical trends; strong facilitation, communications, and presentations skills - Ability to maintain strong collaborative relationships across Product Development, Product Management, and Marketing to drive engagement as part of the all up team - Demonstrated self starter with the ability to work in an ambiguously defined environment - Experience communicating effectively in a variety of environments (including written, formal and informal meetings, executive presentations, etc.) and with a variety of technical and marketing audiences - Applicants need to have a flexible can-do attitude, be self-sufficient, and be able to create solid working relationships across other business and technical teams. - Technical Development Experience with Microsoft tools such as Visual Studio 2008, .NET Compact Framework, SQL Server, Expressions Blend, and Windows Mobile SDKs is crucial. - Rock star presentation skills and demoing capabilities. Education: An undergraduate degree or equivalent is required, and an MBA is preferred.
