John Deere Credit is looking for a Manager of Insurance Risk Management to join the Risk Management and Credit Pricing Division. This positions requires a strong knowledge of insurance policy, understanding insurance risk and how to establish both policy and good risk based decisions for the John Deere Risk Protection Services.
Starting salary: $95,000 - 110,000, commensurate with experience. Total compensation includes salary, bonus, and comprehensive benefits.
MAJOR PURPOSE:
Ensures profitability and avoidance of capital loss through effective risk management of John Deere Risk Protection (JDRP). Ensures that risks are effectively managed and priced as well as ensures that effective risk procedures are in place and being adhered to. Provides senior management visibility to the risks and the potential losses.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Description of the major duties performed in this job.
Develops an assessment process to quantify and evaluate the overall risk inherent in the book of business in cooperation with industry leading external risk management firms and John Deere Risk Protection (JDRP) management.
Develops or utilizes existing statistical and actuarial tools and capabilities (either internally or externally) to ensure the risks in proposed products are appropriate and in line with objectives and risk parameters.
Works with the business unit to ensure risk management policy and procedures are in place and being properly employed.
Builds and uses models to assess the effectiveness of the pricing for John Deere Risk Protection (JDRP) products.
Evaluates and provides feedback to business unit management and senior management on the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies employed via both public and private reinsurance tools.
Develops reports and processes to ensure senior management has a clear view of the risks in the portfolio.

Education:
Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements.
Degree in an Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
Relevant Work Experiences:
Type and amount of experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an understanding of a particular function, organization, industry or product line.
Experience with financial modeling, score card development, project management, risk analysis and database management. - 8 - 10 years
Finance/banking experience with credit or risk experience, some of which are at management level. - 8 - 10 years
Crop Insurance industry experience. Can be any combination of adjusting, marketing, underwriting, auditing or compliance. - 8 - 10 years
