John Deere Agricultural Equipment Division is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to coordinate the activities of engineers that prepare and test tractors for the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory, OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) certification, implement compatibility, competitive assessment, and continuous improvement projects. This includes tractors from 40 pto HP up to 500+ engine hp. In this position, you will:
Supervise the implementation of projects related to the above using the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) to ensure that the product program goals are met.
Lead in the resolution of product-line based difficult technical issues for continuous improvement whether within the company or with outside suppliers.
Exchange necessary information with other functional groups, including monthly updates to management.
Provide leadership and counsel to less experienced employees.
Perform administrative duties related to performance management, salary pay plan, succession planning, resource planning, training, and development of direct reports.
Education
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Agricultural preferred) or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience with basic dynamometer testing.
Experience with basic engine performance.
Experience with basic hydraulic performance.
Experience operating agricultural equipment.
Experience communicating and presenting status updates to cross-functional teams.
Desired Skills and Experience
Technical experience relating to the design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
Supervisory experience in a product engineering environment.
Project and/or program management experience.
