* Provide leadership, counsel, and support to management on all matters related to and involving the administration and management of hourly production and maintenance personnel.
* Exercise leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of personnel practices, policies, and programs that encourage a safe, cooperative, and collaborative climate.
* Establish and promote a cooperative and collaborative management employee work environment through the personal exercise of positive climate setting strategies and practices.
* Seek to develop personal credibility among management personnel and the general workforce.
* Advance the cause of positive relations.
* Direct hourly personnel administration activities including employee personnel record maintenance, job posting procedure and records, work force addition and reduction procedures, new employee orientation and registration, employee discipline administration, etc.
* Handle all grievances at the 2nd step level along with any shop floor issues; prepare and handle grievances going to 3rd step in the grievance procedure (in union environment).
* Respond to employee concerns regarding interpretation and application of personnel administration activities.
* Coordinate other hourly related management programs and provide supervisory training as required such as employee recognition programs, absenteeism control programs, teambuilding, productivity/process improvement programs, Six Sigma/Lean, etc.
* Provide counsel and advice regarding contractual issues, policies and procedures.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college
* At least 3 additional years of experience in Human Resources and/or Hourly Relations
* At least 2 years of experience in a production environment
Desired
* Masters degree preferred (MHR, MILR, MBA)
* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with business leaders and employees
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and leadership ability
