John Deere Power Systems is seeking an Engineer to define engine performance and application requirements with internal vehicle engineering. In this position, you will:



Define torque and power curves, engine Bill of Materials including current and new physical part features/options, engine control and vehicle interface software.
Negotiate and establish experimental, prototype, and production engine build schedules.
Communicate partner requirements to JDPS organization including base engine design group, performance development group, electronic hardware and software groups, application design and appropriate engine production factories.
Ensure that partner application approval testing is completed satisfactorily.
Coordinate JDPS internal activities to support overall projects.
Be responsible for adhering to established Application Delivery Process as well as participate in activities designed to identify process gaps, establish process improvement plans and ultimately execute those plans.
Be expected to occasionally travel to such places as partner vehicle design and test facilities, partner vehicle production facilities, end-customer job sites and engine production facilities.

Education



Bachelor of Science degree in a Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.


Required Skills and Experience



3+ years Product Engineering experience
1+ years experience in diesel engine design, engine performance, or vehicle applications
Strong prioritization skills including ability manage frequent changes
Excellent team skills including project leadership and schedule management
Ability to travel up to 15% to support vehicle testing and meeting with vehicle partners
Flexibility in dealing with changing and/or partial information
Strong problem solving skills


Desired Skills and Experience



Demonstrated skills in communication of technical data and project information
Skill in using SAP, Pro/Intralink and ProEngineer
