GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide accountability, responsibility, and supervision for the operation of the Central Production Facility Laundry. This includes safety, security, maintenance, and production. Maintaining an up to date inventory of equipment, tools, and stock materials used for the Central Production Facility Laundry. Plans, organizes and controls the work of up to thirty inmates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide supervision to inmate laundry and janitor workers. Delegate duties to inmate workers; ensure laundry is processed daily and completed accurately and in a timely manner; advise inmate workforce on policies and procedures; provide specialized training programs as needed; maintain training records; work with units to fill positions in laundry; order supplies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Knowledge of laundry operations; knowledge of security requirements; knowledge of fire and OSHA standards; ability to supervise and train inmate workers; ability to push, pull, climb and use hand tools; ability to safely operate a motor vehicle; skill in oral and written communication; good people skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to an associate's degree in a vocational or educational area, PLUS two years of professional work experience at the level of a vocational trainer, OR a bachelor's degree in education, communications or a field related to the program area.
Candidates will be subject to background and reference investigation, fingerprinting, and shall be required to submit to urinalysis testing to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment
