Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager will provide support and leadership in the implementation of the inorganic growth strategy of GE Energy, including executing due diligence and strategic evaluation of acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and other business development opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities
* Coordinate with GE business unit and industry experts to understand GE's strategic approach to opportunities then develop and execute on a consistent inorganic growth strategy.
* As a member of GE Energy M&A organization, coordinate closely with business to support an aggressive growth agenda.
* Works closely with BD Leader and the BD Finance organization on all M&A-related financial issues including valuation, deal structuring and accounting issues.
* Team member in the preparation and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other business combinations relating to the GE Energy portfolio.
* Manage many prospective investment opportunities in various stages of evaluation or execution simultaneously.
* Assume responsibility for and manages the acquisition due diligence process.
* Source / identify, screen, analyze, and execute transactions from beginning to integration.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college.
* Fluent in English

* Willingness to travel at times.
Desired
* MBA and/or at least 5 years experience in Strategy Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategic Planning, Financial Analysis or GE Corporate Audit Staff.
* Exceptional interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills.
* Engineering degree or exposure to technical/industrial environment.
* Commercial contract or M&A deal experience, particularly in the energy industry.
* Strong analytical skills coupled with a solid financial background.
* Experience working in a large cross-functional, matrix organization.
* Ability to work in a highly independent, unstructured, but intensely results-oriented environment.
* Multilingual.
* Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Energy industry experience is preferred.
