Live Service Group Operations (that's Xbox Live Operations on steroids) in Entertainment and Devices is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.

You will be on the inside of the future of digital entertainment with the opportunity to make a difference. You will help build and manage Xbox Live, Xbox.com, and systems for Zune and other future projects. Duties/Responsibilities:

Build and maintain the physical production and test environments for Xbox.com, Xbox Live, Zune.net and our other new services.
Leverage existing Microsoft technologies to create & maintain OS imaging system.
Stay on top of the latest server and storage solutions and be able to provide recommendations that best meet the business needs.
Provide system administration for the Server Labs.
24x7 on-call rotation schedule.
Establish/continually improve operations procedures.
Rapid installation and configuration of server environments using deployment technologies.
Racking and cabling of servers according to standards.

Qualifications:

Think broadly, and have a proven track record of working on difficult technical issues in both the lab and production environments.

Build and maintain excellent relationships and negotiate effectively with internal customers.

Experience working in a 24x7 environment. It's always prime-time somewhere for someone.
Great customer service skills, strong communications skills, time management skills, and documentation skills.
Excellent understanding of unattended installations of Windows.
Demonstrated experience with OS troubleshooting including driver and application interactions.
Experience with debugging tools.
Working experience with server class systems (SAS, SCSI, RAID, Backup, Server 2003, Tape Libraries, DFS, DNS, IIS).
Scripting skills and automation experience are preferred
Be able to go from the box to the cabinet through the entire installation.
BS/CS degree or five years of related experience is preferred.
Recent experience with service delivery in data center and/or lab environments is desired.
Experience with Windows 2003, Visio, SQL, VB or C# scripting, ASP/ASPX, .NET, and IIS.
The ability to lift up servers, storage, switches, routers, and other infrastructure hardware
