Syndication Central is emerging as a high visibility technology team adding high value to Microsoft's bottom-line.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deep understanding of online service signup/provisioning scenarios as well as service catalog management scenarios in a high scale, low touch environment; benchmark against other groups and external solutions. Apply your knowledge to define near-term and multi-year vision, strategy, and design for world class service syndication.
- Define, plan and execute the implementation of integration scenarios enabling syndication partner and subscriber lifecycle. Identify stakeholders, validate business objectives & requirements; define measurable success criteria; specify resource needs; define & drive project milestones; manage stakeholder expectations; actively mitigate project risks.
- Represent team as primary point of contact with service engineering teams, service implementation, product management, planning, business development, and other internal stakeholders for syndication partner and subscriber lifecycle scenarios; drive continuous improvement process for engineering KPIs
- Develop design specifications for processes, interfaces and platform service logic. Work with development and test to ensure these specifications are developed and tested in a timely fashion and that they meet the underlying business needs
- Develop effective stakeholder communications plan, and execute on the plan throughout the engineering lifecycle to keep stakeholders informed
Competencies:
- At least 6 years program management experience with proven success in shipping online services; at least 2 full ship cycles on a specific service
- At least 3 years experience designing, building and operating highly scalable and highly available service integration scenarios, preferably with external partners
- Cross boundary collaboration: several years of experience delivering scenarios crossing product/service boundaries. Experienced at developing strong working relationships with peer groups.
- Strong, well-rounded core PM skills. PMI membership, PMP certification highly valued.
- Experience working with authentication, Live ID, and federated identity is highly valued
- Experience in designing and developing web services using SOAP, XML and .Net technologies will be a plus
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
- Proven ability to think strategically and identify market-breakthrough opportunities from ideas solicited from throughout the company.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies (SCRUM) and the willingness to adapt to these development styles
