Job Overview:
ATMI is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator for our Danbury, Connecticut office to design and architect solutions. In this position, you will architect reliable system configurations and maintain a high degree of system uptime towards continuous improvement of 99.9996%. The Oracle DBA will manage and configure the Oracle database to optimally run the Oracle Applications, maintaining the performance of the system. This is a highly visible position within AMTI that will allow you to work with business leaders across the globe on system enhancements. On call support for this role is required. The Oracle Database Administrator will report to the Director, Information Systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Plan and schedule database backup and recovery;
• Create capacity plans in conjunction with on-going development projects;
• Upgrade and install the Oracle applications technology stack including web servers, application servers, middle-tiers, and Oracle database;
• Manage and configure concurrent managers and supervise weekend cloning activities;
• Maintain the security of the Oracle database and Oracle Applications, creating and enforcing security policies and procedures;
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans (Oracle Data-guard);
• Participate on the weekly PMO call and work with multiple functional groups on ERP projects;
• Lead projects and people within Oracle ERP and related environments;
• Manage outsourced vendors as appropriate to provide toward a global support model;
• Manage outsourced team on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and on monthly yield reporting to demonstrate continuous improvement;
• Provide technical leadership to business teams to insure process architecture integrity through deployment, including system reviews;
• Interact with peers by following a common SDLC methodology and provide technical expertise to Infrastructure Team on hardware and OS;
• Ability to support a 365, 24/7 environment.
Education/Experience:
• BS in Computer Science, Management or equivalent work experience;
• 6+ years experience as an Oracle Application DBA;
• Experience working with Oracle 9i, 10g and 11.5.10 required, version 12 experience preferred;
• Working experience with Oracle/Sun OS required, Linux preferred;
• Knowledge of cloning and backup;
• Experience working within an Oracle production support environment;
• Project Management experience with an ability to manage cross functional teams;
• Ability to mentor and lead onshore and offshore teams;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
