John Deere Dubuque Works is seeking an Engineer to develop, analyze and implement hydraulic system solutions for the Tracked Feller Buncher and Harvester forestry product line. In this position, you will: Participate in new development from initial designs to production for entire hydraulic systems including pumps, hydraulic motors, valves, pilot systems, filtration systems and plumbing. Lead in the investigation and troubleshooting of hydraulic system issues. Travel to logging sites to gain an understanding of the specific machine forestry application. Qualifications Education Four year degree in Agricultural, Forestry, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent experience. Required Skills and Experience Understanding of mobile hydraulic system design (including pumps and valves in a load sense hydraulic system). Hydraulic routed systems design of off-highway equipment. Hydraulic system troubleshooting and/or root cause analysis related to field issues of hydraulic systems. Ability to interpret hydraulic schematic diagrams. Experience using 3D modeling software, such as ProE. Desired Skills and Experience Experience using Windchill PDM Link application as it relates to the design release process. Experience with tracked feller buncher and harvester design. Experience with forestry equipment theory of operation. Understanding of full-tree and cut to length forestry methods & application as it relates to design requirements. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
