GamesIT is looking for a key team member to focus on server and network security, from a hardware and software perspective across our gaming environments. The environments cover both internal campus systems as well as Production Data Centers. Our current areas of support cover server and networking devices hosting both PC and Xbox platforms spanning multiple sites in the US and locations in Japan and the United Kingdom. This position requires an individual who is adept in scoping, designing and deploying secure servers and networks. This individual must bring a breadth of knowledge regarding server and network engineering, intrusion detection, and network security, as well as excellent communication skills. He/she should be highly collaborative in nature. This person should also possess a minimum of 6 years experience in server and network management with experience in Windows 2003/2008/IIS/SQL, Cisco ASA firewalls and FWSMs, RSA SecurID, ISS Proventia, security testing tools and methodologies and threat modeling. Experience developing and implementing security controls for development environments is a plus. You will be required to play a "hands on " role ranging from design , implementation , and security, to troubleshooting and repair.
The Security Engineer will need to have the skills necessary to perform the following tasks:
Be a technology leader with regards to Information Security, covering System and Network Security.
Design and implement security standards for the operations environment across the internal and external facing networks supported by GamesIT.
Participate or lead the evaluation and testing of new security policies and devices, configurations, equipment, tools, and services targeted for the Games Division
Resolve security escalations from Tier 3
Maintain excellent communication skills to communicate with middle and senior management on an as needed basis
Works closely with vendors, service providers, service managers, MSN, MSIT and the GamesIT teams
Work with the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Operations teams on process definition and methodologies
Develop and maintain an extensive understanding of the Games environment
Assist with the definition and tracking of key performance metrics to assess cross-organizational compliance on mutually agreed performance and availability targets
Qualifications Should Include:
6 years direct IT experience and a minimum of a CISSP certification in Information Security
Very strong technical knowledge of server and network security solutions for large environments
Ability to design fault tolerant, highly available secure environments
A BS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience) and a minimum of 6 years demonstrated and relevant work in field
Ability to provide mentorship to technical implementation teams
Experience with Network Management procedures and tools
Network VPN and IDS solutions knowledge desirable
Other qualifications include:
Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills in technical areas; Exceptional customer service and technical writing skills; Must have sufficient technical depth to communicate with development and other internal organizations at a peer level; Must have the ability to work independently with minimal management supervision and as part of a team of Operations engineers; Demonstrated aptitude for providing exceptional customer service in politically charged environments; Ability to enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development of product training, mentoring of new hires, and team content development; Ability to apply technology and policy to improve the security existing products and systems both for external customers and for internal use; Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, direction, and strategy; Demonstrate strategic thinking.
