Position Description
This position is in support of the Ares I program. Serves as Program Manager for assigned supplier(s). Integrates overall procurement activities and manages all aspects of supplier relationship and performance throughout all contract phases (e.g., monitors performance data, provides technical and business direction). Provides technical assistance to ensure cost, delivery schedule compliance and product conformity. Identifies, establishes and maintains priorities for deliveries, necessary supplier corrective actions, and resolution of issues to ensure contractual compliance. Collects and analyzes supplier performance data to assure supplier performance meets all Boeing requirements. Develops methods to measure key supplier and internal performance indicators, analyzes performance data, and leads contract performance reviews, regular site visits, design reviews, rate readiness reviews, and lean assessments to improve performance and lower costs. Conducts on-site evaluations, root-cause analysis, and identifies solutions to establish the basis for recovery plans and corrective action and preventative actions. Leads continuous supplier assessments and mentoring of best practices. Communicates across stakeholders to report status and concerns, and to achieve compliance with Boeing procurement strategy and contractual compliance. Specific desired experience/ knowledge: Extensive experience with complex structures and tooling desired. Will require understanding of manned space flight, factory and test operations, NASA launch systems, institution of a safety culture and working in a multi-contractor environment. Understanding of lean, facilities activation, tooling and aerospace sub-systems desired.

Education and/or Experience

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. U.S. Citizenship required. Space Exploration Program positions that are designated as sensitive will require random screening for drugs and/or alcohol in accordance with NASA federal regulations.
