Position Description
As a member of the National Team, the selected individual will provide technical reliability, maintainability, and availability (RMA) and logistics engineering support to the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Responsible to the Missile Defense Systems Engineering Team (MDSET) Design and Specification (DEED) IBT. Responsible for definition and development of logistics and RMA functionality, design packages, and requirements. Prepares related architectural and conceptual products and documents. Principle liaison for MDSET RMA and logistics functions with MDA. Performs RMA and logistics analysis; provides value-added analysis products and data for systems engineers and management. Meets program schedules. Provides RMA and logistics expertise to MDSET engineering teams regarding plans, specifications, reviews, and presentations. Coordinates with other MDSET engineering teams to ensure RMA and logistics interests are integrated into engineering products. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Project Management, team leadership, demonstrated interpersonal communications skills, able to work independently are a must. Solid system engineering experience - RMA requirements development, functional decompositions, system interfaces, and system of systems integration of military systems. Experience with requirements databases, analysis & architecture tools. Ability to identify and analyze problems, and propose solutions. Strong analytical, collaboration, and communication skills with proven ability to provide technical briefings to senior management are a must. Must have an active Secret clearance. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Works under minimal direction.

Education and/or Experience
"Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard."
Other Job related information
Military systems operations and logistics support experience, a plus. System of Systems engineering experience a plus. Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities. Familiarity with DOORS, System Architect engineering tools, and RAPTOR modeling tool. Top Secret clearance is a plus.
