The Technical Department team’s mandate consists of both take-to-market product development and also internal infrastructure support projects. Development projects can include software, hardware, and/or firmware development activity. We are seeking an Application Developer with a minimum of 3 years of experience ideally earned in working in sophisticated web design. Job Description/Duties:
Zedi is recruiting an Application Developer for its Edmonton office. As a key member of the Applications Development Team, the ideal candidate will be skilled in all aspects of software, hardware and/or firmware development activity. This full-time role will be responsible for:
Design, code, test and implement web-based solutions
Provide time estimates for completion of project tasks
Participate in creating requirements documents
Develop test plans from system requirements and design specs
Adhere to coding standards and methodologies
Suggest improvements to the product, its usability and features and the overall quality of the software
Document code as required
Provide technical support internally and externally
Qualifications:
Technical Diploma or BSc degree in Computer Systems
Minimum 3- 5 years of development on web based applications
C# and ASP.net experience is a must
Proficiency in Javascript, HTML, DHTML and CSS
Experience with AJAX, NHibernate and NUnit
An understanding of SQL
Must possess the ability to create intuitive client interfaces
Good oral and written communication skills
Must have knowledge and understanding of all facets of the development life cycle, object oriented design, database normalization and design, version control and change management
Must be a self starter who can take initiative on projects with minimal supervision
Familiarity with SCRUM or other Agile methodologies for developing software is an asset.
