John Deere is seeking a Radio Frequency Manufacturing Engineer. In this position, you will: Serve as the manufacturing representative on cross-functional product teams responsible to ensure the product design meets all production requirements (DFM/DFA) and all customer quality and delivery expectations. Develop and maintain FMEA's used to create control plans and drive mistake proofing that will ensure the customer's quality expectations are met. Perform worst-case design and analysis of radio frequency (RF) aspects of manufacturing testers. Perform worst-case design and analysis of RF aspects of product designs. Perform requirements analysis, modeling, simulation, and design verification. Guide layout of RF circuits on printed circuit boards. Evaluate and select suppliers of components and test equipment. Develop new applications of technology for product development. Analyze assignments and determine engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for basic problems or projects. Provide technical support and troubleshooting to production teams for quality issues; use Six Sigma methodology to investigate, gather and and analyze data to identify root cause and implement proper corrective action; document both the issue and solution in the problem reporting system. Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on knowledge of engineering applications. Comprehend the use of critical technology. Create project schedules and budgets and manage activities to meet these goals. Lead both individual and cross-functional team projects of moderate scope. Communicate well with team members, management and customers. Compile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports). Provide coaching and supervision for Engineering Technicians and Interns when required. Also mentor and coach entry level Manufacturing Engineers as required. Train production staff in new methods/processes. Education Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent RF experience. Required Skills and Experience 3-5 years of experience with RF/analog circuit design and/or manufacture. Strong knowledge of RF/Analog circuit theory of operation, design and analysis. Strong knowledge of radio receiver architecture. Strong knowledge in the use of laboratory equipment including spectrum analyzers and digital oscilloscopes. Experience using engineering simulation tools such as Microwave Office, Eagleware, PSPICE, MathCad, MatLab and databases. Knowledge of World Class Quality Systems/Methods: ISO-9001, Six Sigma (Certification preferred), DFM/DFA, FMEA, and Mistake Proofing. Experience in manufacturing; willing and able to be present in production areas to solve problems. Desired Skills and Experience Experience with GPS systems a plus. HAM radio experience. Experience with LabView a plus. Experience leading cross-functional teams.
