John Deere Product Engineering Center is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the instrumentation engineering activities in the area of component testing. In this position, you will: Provide engineering support for a variety of instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems used in the PEC test lab. Work closely with test engineers, test lab supervisors, suppliers, and other support personnel. Provide technical support and some work direction to wage employees. Participate in the wage employee replenishment process. Participate in and support safety programs, training activities, and quality improvement projects. Education Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in an Engineering or Business related discipline preferred. Required Skills and Experience Experience with instrumentation including computer-based data acquisition systems, sensors, closed-loop control systems, calibration equipment, and other measurement equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience in project management including proposals, budgets, and schedules. Demonstrated experience leading others in a product development & test environment. Desired Skills and Experience Technical experience with troubleshooting problems in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Experience with AutoCad. Experience with LabVIEW graphical programming. Familiar with agricultural equipment and applications.
