Provide overall direction and management of the staff. Plan and facilitate team coordination and communication through regular staff meetings. Work with the team to foster a positive work dynamic that ensures proper knowledge sharing within the group. Promptly address all conflicts, issues and challenges. Complete administrative supervisory tasks such as setting staff member goals, performing evaluations and managing time. Work with the staff to oversee project work. Participate in workshops and architectural sessions in order to understand and provide direction in the areas of development and operational support. Conduct individual coaching sessions based on findings to ensure the staff continues to learn from project work and experiences. Consult with technical leads to identify training needs and development opportunities to ensure team members are well trained and continue to develop appropriate skills. Provide guidance to team members on assigned tasks and acquire additional subject matter expertise when necessary. Consult with technical leads in order to determine the best solution to solve a problem as well as input on individual performance matters. Establish standard processes and procedures for implementing and supporting packaged solutions. Ensure all supported packages have well defined implementation and usage strategies as well as formally communicated support plans. Ensure functional and operational responsibilities are clearly defined and assigned to the appropriate team members. Ensure all supported technologies have appropriate primary and backup support roles defined. Work with other NJM I.T. teams to provide educational awareness for supported solutions. Work with the Business Relationship Leaders and Project Management staff to ensure the team fully understands their role and responsibilities for assigned projects and ensure SDLC processes, procedures and templates are completed for each project. Maintain a collaborative working relationship with vendors in order to stay informed of significant changes in product direction, business direction and support arrangements. Meet with independent vendors on a regular basis and attend appropriate user group meetings and technical conferences. Provide feedback to I.T. management regarding significant vendor developments.
