Yes Date Posted 07/24/2008 Closing Date (Things you should know about closing dates) 10/01/2008 Position Description Position is located at Prince Sultan Air Base - Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia. Technicians will test, troubleshoot, install, remove, inspect, maintain and repair system components and ancillary equipment of installed systems in accordance with current RSAF/Boeing technical publications. Experience with electronic principles, solid state devices, concepts and application of maintenance management, and interpretation of technical orders, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, logic diagrams, machine listings, wire lists, and processed data listings is preferred. Applies technical knowledge to perform routine tasks following detailed instructions. Usage of common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators and oscilloscopes a must. Receives technical guidance as required from supervisor or higher level technician. Work is spot checked for accuracy. Prior USAF Avionics/Electrical technician performing Organizational or Intermediate level maintenance a plus. Perform additional duties as required by supervisor. Competencies Assist engineers and/or customers in troubleshooting systems (e.g., pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical) and support equipment. Conduct functional tests by operating aircraft systems and/or monitoring aircraft instruments or bench-mounted indicators (e.g., pressure, temperature, electrical). Configure aircraft and/or bench test equipment for testing. Coordinate and consult with engineers and/or customers to determine the level of maintenance or repair to be performed on aircraft and/or components. Document work accomplished per the engineering planning documents and/or technical manuals, and record final configuration. Inspect and verify that aircraft and/or components comply with repair or modification requirements. Knowledge of calibration maintenance processes (e.g., Electrical measurement device - Multi Meter calibration, Oscilloscope calibration) and corrosion prevention. Knowledge of general shop safety practices (e.g., rope off areas under a lift, wearing hard hats). Perform general inspections for pre-flight, post-flight, and component handling. Visually inspect components before installation to verify cleanliness and achieve 'OK to install' status. Perform retest of disturbed systems and/or components. Troubleshoot to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Typically a person in this position will have 707 airframe experience. Education and/or Experience Prefer seven years AWACS experience or equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant license a plus.
