The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Hardware design engineering team is responsible the design, sustaining and issue resolution of T&D product line for Automation, Meters, Monitoring and Diagnostics, and Power Products. The hardware engineer is responsible for performing electronics design tasks for the Meters product line.
* Design analog and digital circuits to meet functional requirements, performance requirements and cost targets for a high volume commercial product.
* Carry out power supply analysis and design.
* Provide technical guidance on electronics design to engineers across multiple sites.
* Execute circuit design for manufacturability, reliability and maintainability.
* Perform design to cost analysis and tradeoffs.
* Implement FEMA on components, designs, and products.
* Adhere to established design processes, standards and design practices.
* Use automated design-drawing tools for design tasks (P-Cad, Altium).
* Perform architectural design for products, evaluates alternate solution for new product and clearly defines and guides team for technical clarity in the product development.
* Create and review functional / performance / compliance test plans and procedures to ensure adherence to requirements.
* Generate manufacturing documentation such as BOMs, change orders, control records, and manufacturing test specifications.
* Develop conceptual designs and detailed designs in accordance with established engineering processes, submit design packages for reviews, and update the designs as required as a result from reviews.
* Support the sourcing, manufacturing, and validation teams during prototype and validation activities.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in electronics design.
Desired
* Familiar with PCBA manufacturing process, FPGA based circuits, Microcontroller based circuits and memory interface circuits.
* Solid understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (EMC, Electrical safety, CE, RoHS and other in-country regulations test requirements).
* Master's in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
* Meters domain experience.
* Ability to energize, develop, and build rapport at all levels within an organization.
* Strong interpersonal skills, tenacity and patience to develop long-term customer relationships.
* Organized, ability to multi-task and stay organized.
* High energy, self-starter, with a proven track record in delivering results.
* Black Belt / Green Belt Certified.
* Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to guide multiple parts of a matrixed organization to the achievement of one vision.
